Welcome to the BDDS web site. The society comprises the 7th district of the Alabama Dental Association and is a component of the American Dental Association. It serves 460 members and their patients from Birmingham and the surrounding counties. The Birmingham District Dental Society was founded in 1907 and has operated continuously since that date. The mission of the society is to serve our members by promoting  the highest quality of dental care, providing information, support services, and addressing issues concerning dentistry. BDDS also provides dental referral for the public and assists with the placement of auxiliary personnel in dental offices.

The Society is governed by an elected executive council. The business affairs of the Society are managed by the executive director, Ms. Carolynne B. Scott.
